The New Think Corner is Open

The New Think Corner of Helsinki University opens to the public today. The former staff-only administrative building is now a venue for co-learning, co-creation and events.

JKMM won the design competition in 2015 and have since then worked with the University and Kuudes Kerros to create a new space that will make academic life and research more accessible to all Helsinki residents as well as visitors to the capital.

Think Corner is positioned on a prominent corner between Carl Engel’s main University building and Aarne Ervin’s  Porthania, and thus completing the Helsinki University’s central city campus. Its large windows and a double-storey atrium invite the public in and create a generous urban realm mediating between the existing two historic university buildings.
