JKMM Playes Ice Hockey to Support Work Against Climate Change

This was the second time JKMM was supporting Save Pond Hockey Tournament in their efforts in uniting and mobilizing the global hockey community against climate change. Our ice hockey team JKMM Lovers was sponsoring and, of course, playing at the tournament that took place on 9th of February 2019.

For the 5th year, the annual Helsinki Save Pond Hockey Tournament was played Kallio Ice Rink, Helsinki. On the game day, there were 32 teams and over 250 players competing to see who is the pond hockey champion of Helsinki. On the opening game of the tournament the president of Finland, Sauli Niinistö along with international hockey legends, Hall of Famers, and Stanley Cup winners hit the ice.

This tournament, along with many others taking place around Finland, was organised by Save Pond Hockey organisation to raise money and awareness for campaign against climate change.

As the winters get milder due to the climate change, the outdoor winter sports dear to us Finns are threatened.  We want to do our part in preserving the snowy winters by supporting fight agains climate change.
