The purpose of the ARMI project was to assemble Finland’s national organizations in the fields of architecture, building and design under the same roof.

In addition to suitable facilities and premises, working in the same building offered the necessary conditions for a new kind of collaboration and interaction, and for developing new types of work and activities.

The site was planned for the port area of Katajanokka in Helsinki, close to the historic sites of Kauppatori market and the Senate square.

The architectonic form of the ARMI Design and Architecture Museum consists of a compact building with interior open-air spaces for functional and townscape-related grounds.
