JKMM’s proposal “Damgambit” has won the Svenska Kulturfondet I Björneborgin (SKiB) architecture competition for a school building in Pori, a historic city on the West Coast of Finland. Altogether five Finnish architecture offices were invited to participate in the architecture competition that took place during fall 2020.

The winner is announced 18 January 2021 in a virtual ceremony.

The competition involves remodelling the Björneborgs Svenska Samskolan (BSS), a Swedish speaking school providing daycare and tuition from primary right through to senior years.  The design concept focusses on creating an inherently urban wood-structured school that houses various activities not unlike a cultural campus.
