The new offices have been designed for Hiab, the leading provider of smart and sustainable load-handling solutions, and Kalmar, which offers a wide range of heavy material handling and logistics solutions. Both companies’ office spaces are located in We Land, a landmark office building in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, designed to support the flexibility of modern work. The building opened in autumn 2024.

Hiab and Kalmar’s new Helsinki offices span the 11th to 13th floors of the We Land office building, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The building’s copper-and-glass façade beautifully reflects natural light, enhancing the brightness that extends into the spacious interiors. High ceilings and the use of natural materials create a warm and inspiring atmosphere.

The interior design combines natural tones and functional aesthetics, shaping a work environment that promotes well-being, productivity, and a sense of calm and focus. A soft, cosy, and earthy colour palette – subtle greens and warm Bordeaux hues – creates an inviting and comfortable ambience. The colour choices take inspiration from the companies’ operational environments, including forests and maritime port settings.

The bright spaces are enriched with lush greenery, bringing life and freshness to every corner. These verdant elements not only enhance the visual appeal of the interiors but also improve air quality and foster a stronger connection to nature. Natural materials such as wood and wool fabrics further complement the greenery, adding warmth and texture to the environment.

The goal of the design is to create a workspace that is both vibrant and calming, where employees feel inspired and valued.

We Land office building is aiming for the highest BREEAM Outstanding environmental certification, requiring exceptional standards in energy efficiency, sustainability, and well-being-oriented design. Read more about We Land here.
