Töölö Junior Hall

Location: Helsinki, Finland
Function: Event spaces, Sport stadium
Size: 6300 m2
Status: Completed - 2015
Client: Helsinki Stadion Management, Aki Rihilahti, CEO
Scope: Architecture

Opened in 1915, the Töölö Football Field was the first of its kind in Finland.

Today, Helsinki Stadion Management provides an excess pressure hall for junior practice during winter. JKMM Architects designed the indoor practice hall for the prominent location next to the Olympic Stadium.
The hall settles into the surroundings with its simple shape and light-coloured surface. The semi-transparent surface emphasizes the geometric structure. During the day, light creates lively changes to the shape.
