Verkatehdas Pavilion

Since the opening in 2007, Verkatehdas Arts and Congress Centre has established itself as a popular venue for concerts and events.  In order to cater for larger demand and for various commercial events, a new pavilion building is being designed as an extension to the Verkatehdas premises.

The new pavilion will stand visually apart from the red bricked main building. The two-storey building will be made out of wood. The facades as well as the interiors will be dark and light wood.

The pavilion and the main building share an entrance that leads to the airy glass roofed lobby space that connects the old and new building. The extension of the restaurant is located in the lobby space with direct access from the main building. The pavilion hall opens up from the lobby.  The hall, the main space of the pavilion, is dedicated to host large scale events. It will be flexible and ideal for multi-purpose use with technical solutions that support this. Large glass walls open view to the Vanajavesi lake and create a visual links throughout both buildings.

The second floor with its direct entrance from the lobby, houses a conference room for smaller events. It will be interconnected to the main building.
